In response to growing global risks and increased demand for protection solutions, from Underground Construction we have a partnership agreement with Castellex – a development that Castellex also describes in its news.
As part of this partnership, we present Castellex Air550HCC Ultimate – Professional NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) filtration system designed for protected spaces such as strong rooms, panic rooms, shelters, and bunkers, as well as for facilities with increased requirements for air quality and safety.
Key features and protection
Air550HCC Ultimate is four-stage NBC system with pre-installed filters, designed to remove radioactive particles (fallout), biological contaminants, and chemical agents, including the manufacturer's stated protection against "all known combat gases."
The system combines F7 pre-filter, HEPA H14 filtration and carbon filter, with the stated overall efficiency reaching 99.995%.
Additionally, according to Castellex, the system is designed to filter and retain radioactive iodine and organic iodine compounds, acid gases, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and other harmful pollutants.
Operating modes
For easier use in different situations, the system offers three modes:
- Standby (closed mode)
- Daily ventilation (daily ventilation)
- NBC air filtration (filtration in case of NBC risk)
This allows for both daily use and quick response to changes in the environment or the emergence of a threat.
Flow rate, capacity, and autonomy
Castellex Air550HCC Ultimate provides up to 145 m³/h fresh air and is referred to as collective filtration for up to 24 people.
For situations with limited or interrupted power supply, the following is provided for: backup power supply, including two internal backup batteries, as well as hand-crank mechanism for extended operation.
Design features and configuration
The system includes elements for environmental control such as blast valve and overpressure valve, and offers blast protection up to 123 PSI (according to manufacturer's data).

Castellex develops and manufactures NBC/CBRN filtration solutions. They have extensive experience in the design and manufacture of NBC air supply/filtration systems for various applications.
